چکیده

Variants of the background subtraction method are broadly used for the detection of moving objects in video sequences in different applications. In this work we propose a new approach to the background subtraction method which operates in the colour space and manages the colour information in the segmentation process to detect and eliminate noise. This new method is combined with blob-level knowledge associated with different types of blobs that may appear in the foreground. The idea is to process each pixel differently according to the category to which it belongs: real moving objects, shadows, ghosts, reflections, fluctuation or background noise. Thus, the foreground resulting from processing each image frame is refined selectively, applying at each instant the appropriate operator according to the type of noise blob we wish to eliminate. The approach proposed is adaptive, because it allows both the background model and threshold model to be updated. On the one hand, the results obtained confirm the robustness of the method proposed in a wide range of different sequences and, on the other hand, these results underline the importance of handling three colour components in the segmentation process rather than just the one grey-level component. 2007 Elsevier B.V. Automatic Detection for Tracking Moving Objects in H.264 Video Sequences Using Multi-Features and Bi-Modal Gaussian Approximation

Automatic moving object detection is essential for various computer vision applications like video surveillance systems. Many previous moving object detection methods work for usually low-res video sequences under certain constraints. Either they perform detection process based on background learning and/or pixel-level motion analysis or they focus on detecting particular objects such as faces....

A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO REAL-TIME DYNAMIC BACKGROUND GENERATION BASED ON A TEMPORAL MEDIAN FILTER

In many computer vision applications, segmenting and extraction of moving objects in video sequences is an essential task. Background subtraction, by which each input image is subtracted from the reference image, has often been used for this purpose. In this paper, we offer a novel background-subtraction technique for real-time dynamic background generation using color images that are taken fro...

Using a Novel Concept of Potential Pixel Energy for Object Tracking

Abstract   In this paper, we propose a new method for kernel based object tracking which tracks the complete non rigid object. Definition the union image blob and mapping it to a new representation which we named as potential pixels matrix are the main part of tracking algorithm. The union image blob is constructed by expanding the previous object region based on the histogram feature. The pote...

Mosaic of a video shot with multiple moving objects

In this paper we describe an application which takes a video shot as input and produces a compact representation composed by a background layer and segmented moving objects. We deal with the problems of global registration, super-resolution mosaicing, objects segmentation and tracking. Global registration is achieved with a graph-based technique that exploits situations when the camera returns ...
